i guess i heard about original sin.: Let's just get one thing straight.

littleojibwe:

This is traditional native clothing:

Eastern Shoshone (Wyoming), Girl’s Dress, beads/leather, c. 1900.

Not this:

Or even this:

Wanna know why that second one still doesn’t count?
Because ladies and gents that is Iron Eyes Cody. He was a famous actor…

WAAAAIT, one second. I get this and all, but uh with the blankets…I’ve got a friend (well he’s a friend of my mothers’) and he moved off his tribe when he was younger to go to college became an elementary art school teacher and helped start the Native American Museum in Washington DC….now, from there… He had blankets just like that (that is mother made and he made and his sisters made and he offered to give me one but I didn’t have space for it when I was 16 so I declined…which I hate now) so does that make it a Native American “Indian” blanket?
And if We are going to talk dress and actions I really should get around to posting pictures my great-grandfather George Raresheid took at the Native American Peace treaties… he was a war time/ peace time photographer and took some stunning pictures.

ANYWHO. I’m gonna shower and take my car to the wash.
